Gina Tsichlia completed her first-degree BSc Hons in Nutrition and Dietetics at Leeds Metropolitan University. She obtained an MSc (Sports Nutrition) in Aberdeen University and her doctoral research continues in the psychopathology of obesity (pending). She is a certified level III Antropometrist (ISAK). She worked as a sports dietician with Leeds United FC, Aston Villa FC and along individual professional athletes in a broad spectrum of sports in the UK and Greece. As a Clinical Dietician she worked in Airedale General and St. Mary’s Hospitals in Leeds. Gina joined the academia in 2004 as a Senior Research Fellow, lecturer and Course Leader in MSc Sports Nutrition at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
Since 2011 she is the head of IATROFOLOGY Health Promotion & Wellbeing Centre in Patras, Greece that specialises in offering expert nutrition services in a diverse range of fields including clinical dietetics, community nutrition, sporting performance, research, food industry, consultancy, media covering. She specialises in sports and works as a Performance Nutritionist in a diverce area across sports disciplines. She is the editor of the book “Fat Matters. From Sociology to Science”, M&K Publishing,UK. She is a member of the BDA, the Nutrition Society, CORE, ASO, EASO BASES, ISAK.
