From 13 to 15 May 2025, the vibrant city of Bilbao, Spain, hosted a Learning Teaching Training Activity (LTTA) – a dynamic, transnational event that brought together women entrepreneurs and VET trainers from across Europe. The activity aimed to familiarise participants with the project’s key results: the EmpowerAI Compendium and the EmpowerAI e-learning course, both developed to empower women through the practical use of AI in business and vocational education.
Day 1: Setting the Stage
The first day began with a warm welcome and an overview of the EmpowerAI initiative, introducing participants to its objectives and learning structure. Attendees had the chance to navigate the project’s website and explore the “Compendium – Database,” an online space featuring practical AI tools, case studies, and learning resources tailored to small business and training needs.
The day concluded with a guided visit to Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria, an inspiring innovation centre that bridges education, entrepreneurship, and digital transformation.
Day 2: Deep Dive into Learning
The second day was fully dedicated to engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Participants explored the first chapter of the online course “Ready, Set, Grow”, and actively contributed to feedback and discussion. A practical workshop on Generative AI and prompting techniques inspired creative thinking, while participants were invited to reflect on their role as EmpowerAI ambassadors within their organisations and communities.
The day concluded with a visit to DEMA Bizkaia, the provincial agency for employment and entrepreneurship, offering an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with local stakeholders.
Day 3: From Tools to Practice
On the final day, participants turned their focus to the second chapter “I Am an AI Model”, including practical exercises from the units focused on personalised AI strategies and overcoming common fears and barriers. Real use cases and guided activities helped consolidate learning. The experience ended with a visit to the iconic Guggenheim Museum, wrapping up an inspiring and collaborative training journey.
This three-day training marked a valuable step in bringing the EmpowerAI project closer to its goals. It provided an inclusive and collaborative space for testing the course and database, exchanging ideas, and empowering women to confidently engage with AI in their professional paths. As the project moves forward, the insights gathered in Bilbao will help ensure that the final tools are practical, accessible, and impactful for both entrepreneurs and educators.
